Six Timepieces · £200 each

The Movie Collection

Six watches drawn from the films we grew up watching. Exposed movements, a starfield under sapphire, and colour used with intent.

The Idea

Watches that look like the films they came from.

Each of these six began with a palette taken off a screen — a suit, a piece of engineering, a night sky — and ended as a dial.

The references live in the design and nowhere else: the colours, the dial architecture, the way light moves across a case. Nothing here borrows a name, a mark or a likeness that is not ours to borrow, and none of these are official anything.

Take whichever one you recognise.

Apex Cobalt — cobalt case, black dial, yellow markers and red hands on a yellow canvas strap
01 / 06 · SB-MC-01

Apex Cobalt

Blue steel. Yellow canvas. Red hands.

Straight off a costume that was never trying to be subtle, and neither is this. Cobalt case, flat black dial, hard yellow markers cut square like tools, and three red hands slicing across the lot.

Colours picked the way warning signs pick colours. Wear it with something plain and let it do the talking.

Reactor Crimson — steel and gold case, red bezel, ice-blue skeleton dial on a red rubber strap
02 / 06 · SB-MC-02

Reactor Crimson

You can see the engine.

Most watches hide the movement behind a dial. This one takes the dial out and shows you the whole mechanism, finished in ice blue, running behind the glass whether or not anyone is watching.

Red ceramic bezel, gold-tone surround, steel flanks. Unapologetically two-tone in an era that mostly is not.

Gamma — integrated steel case and bracelet with a green skeleton dial
03 / 06 · SB-MC-03

Gamma

Calm. Until it isn’t.

A twelve-sided bezel and a bracelet that flows straight out of the case with no lugs anywhere — the hardest case architecture to get right, because there is nowhere for a mistake to hide.

Behind the sapphire, a full skeleton movement on deep green. Doing an enormous amount of work and showing none of the strain.

Three of Six

The film ends. The watch does not.

Solar Red — black case, graduated red dial on an oxblood nylon strap
04 / 06 · SB-MC-04

Solar Red

One colour, taken seriously.

No numerals. No date. No block of text beneath the centre. A single field of red running bright at the middle to near-black at the edge, with blunt markers set straight into it.

The case is blacked out so nothing competes with the colour. The fastest-reading watch here, which is the point.

Solar Yellow — brushed steel case, graduated yellow dial on a navy webbing strap
05 / 06 · SB-MC-05

Solar Yellow

Its counterpart.

The same dial architecture, turned into daylight. Saturated yellow, brushed steel, and a navy webbing strap doing the quiet work of keeping it the right side of formal.

The two were drawn as a pair and are usually bought that way, one after the other.

Event Horizon — polished steel case, indigo starfield dial and iridescent chapter ring on navy leather
06 / 06 · SB-MC-06

Event Horizon

The largest idea in the set.

A true starfield dial — deep indigo shot through with natural inclusions, so the light on your wrist never lands twice in the same place.

Around it, a chapter ring that breaks white light into colour as it turns. Rose gold hands, navy alligator-grain leather.
